Hi.. I have a problem with corrosion come out at the edge of puching / laser cut result after 7 - 10 days...material Galvanized sheet metal 2 mm thickness. Some of the galvanized metal part ( punching / laser cut ) easy to corrosion. I have a plan to apply spray / touch up paint directly after process punching / laser in certain area ( cutting edge ..) ... Also here in Jakarta - INDONESIA , humidity is also give support for rust / corrosion come out . I need some suggestion ....how we control this problem...
The accelerated corrosion observed is due to mechanical damage, cracking of galvanized layer and moisture accumulation. A cross section from corroded sample confirms this. Consideration should be given to drill and not punch in low humidity and paint the surface after the process.
Yes...thanks zee..this is ezactly what we doing now... but could you imagine..we do it for every single holes in many item parts...this is un efficient way to do it...need to improve...I use such a anti corrosion paint like cold galvanized...
