No, you don't need
SS316 have good resistant to environment corrosion.Except fluid in your pipe has a Cl and temp above 60 degree C you must upgrade your material of pipe.

			<![CDATA[IMHO<br />No, you don't need<br />SS316 have good resistant to environment corrosion.Except fluid in your pipe has a Cl and temp above 60 degree C you must upgrade your material of pipe.<br />Cathodic protection selection mostly depend on soil resistivity.more lower (&lt;2000 ohm.CMIIW)soil resistivity more corrosive. For CP on soil usually using Zn(but not mandatory, depend on another aspect).]]>
