I know that small concentrations (10 ppm) of NaNO2 (a passivator) can drastically inhibit the corrosion of iron, with little further decrease in corrosion found at higher concentrations. As little as 0.0023 mol/L of sodium nitrite (NaNO2) or sodium sulfite (Na2SO3) can decease the pit initiation rate of aluminum.
I want to ask for you, Is it possible sodium Nitrite can inhibit stress corrosion cracking of AISI 304 in MgCl environment ?
